PREPARING IRANIAN CAVIAR FOR SALE
An Iranian technician shows a 2 kilogram can of caviar, worth as much as $2000 in some countries, after it is packaged and ready for refrigeration near the Bandar-E-Anzali (Anzali harbor) on the south coast of the Caspian Sea, 175 miles (292 kilometers) Tehran on November 2, 2006. The head of the State Fisheries Organization here announced that the illegal harvest of sturgeon fish reached 18 tons in the year up to March, 2006 which is equal to the amount legally harvested of the caviar species in the same period.
