John Erlichman talks to media after he surrendered himself to LA Court Judge
John Erlichman, until the Watergate scandal a right hand aide to President Nixon, talks to newsmen on September 8, 1973, after he pleaded innocent to charges of burglary and perjury. The charges stemmed from the 1971 break-in at the office of Dr. Daniel Ellsberg' s psychiatrist. Erlichman surrendered himself before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James G.Kolts, and was released on his own recognizance without posting bail. (UPI/ch/Files)
