Preview for Play It Loud: at the Met Museum in New York
A Vox Continental electric organ is on display at a press preview for Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll at Metropolitan Museum of Art on April 1, 2019 in New York City. A groundbreaking exhibition presenting a spectacular array of iconic instruments of rock and roll will go on view at The Met on April 8. The exhibition includes Chuck Berry's electric guitar ES-350T (1957), which was used to record "Johnny B. Goode" a reconstructed performance rig from Eddie Van Halen as it appeared onstage in 1978 Lady Gaga's custom-designed piano Stevie Ray Vaughan's composite stratocaster "Number One" Joan Jett's guitar "Melody Maker," which remains an important part of her onstage identity the guitar that Keith Richards is known to have used when the Rolling Stones appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1966 St. Vincent's electric guitar, which Annie "St. Vincent" Clark designed in collaboration with Music Man in 2015 and Jimmy Page's dragon-embroidered costume, which he wore during Led Zeppelin's live performances from 1975 to 1977.
