Iran's Revolutionary Court sentences U.S. reporter to 8 years in jail for espionage
Parents of imprisoned Iranian-American journalist Roxana, Reza Saberi, and his Japanese wife Akiko show a picture of Roxana Saberi, 31, a freelancer who worked for National Public Radio, the BBC and the Fox News television network at their home in Tehran, Iran on April 27, 2009. An Iranian court said Saberi was found guilty of spying for the United States at trial held in Tehran. Saberi had originally faced accusations of buying alcohol and then of working as a journalist without a valid press card. She has spent six years in Iran studying and writing a book, the British broadcaster said. Today on April 18, 2009, Iran's Revolutionary Court has sentenced her to eight years in jail for espionage, Roxana Saberi attorney says. (UPI Photo/Mohammad Kheirkhah)
